Ages 8–10 (3rd Grade – 5th Grade)
Take ownership of what you build.
Build & Code Camp challenges students who are ready for more. Mornings push deeper into Scratch with more complex game logic and original project designs. Afternoons step up to VEX GO with more challenging builds and autonomous programming. VEX VR bridges both sessions, giving students a virtual environment to test code before hardware.
Morning Coding
At the intermediate level, coding stops being guided and starts being owned. Students are expected to make design decisions, troubleshoot their own logic, and explain their code to a peer. Scratch becomes a real creative environment — not just a tool to follow instructions in, but a platform where students discover what they are capable of when someone trusts them to lead their own project.
Afternoon Robotics
VEX GO at this level introduces students to the reality of engineering: your first design will not be your best design. Students build, test, fail, and rebuild — and instructors coach them through each cycle with one consistent message: the struggle is the lesson. Students leave with robots they are proud of and a deeper understanding of what persistence actually feels like.
Build & Code Camp is for the student who has moved past beginner and is ready to be challenged. Deeper coding, more complex robotics, and VEX VR create a full-week experience where students grow in ways that go beyond what they learn on a screen at home. If your child is ready to take ownership of something difficult, this is the week that will show them what they can do.
