Ages 5–7 (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade)
More building, more creating, more confidence.
Builder's Workshop is designed for young students who are ready to go further. Mornings are spent creating original projects in Scratch, and afternoons challenge students to program VEX 123 robots with growing independence. VEX VR connects both sessions — students see their code come to life virtually before working with physical robots.
Morning Coding
In Builder's Workshop, coding becomes creative. Students use Scratch to design games and animations that are entirely their own — choosing characters, writing the logic, and watching their ideas move on screen. This kind of creative ownership builds more than technical skill. It builds the confidence that comes from finishing something you made yourself.
Afternoon Robotics
Robotics at this level asks more of students — and that is the whole point. Programming a VEX 123 robot to complete a challenge requires focus, patience, and the willingness to try a different approach when the first one doesn't work. These are not just robotics skills. They are life skills.
Builder's Workshop is for the young learner who has had a taste of technology and is hungry for more. Coding and robotics give students two different ways to create and problem solve — and VEX VR ties them together into a connected experience. If your child is ready to go deeper, this is the week for them.
